Dr. Donell Guy Passed Away July 27

Dr. Donell L Guy, a former head coach of basketball and tennis and assistant football coach at Jonathan Law High School, passed away on July 27 in New Castle, Delaware. He was 85.

He helped head coach Vito DeVito’s Lawmen win MBIAC football titles in the 1960s-70s.

Dr. Guy was a chemistry teacher at Law from Sept. 1961, until June, 1994. Upon his retirement, he returned to Wilmington, DE and taught chess and checkers to students in Wilmington and throughout the New Castle County area. He was also a sports official and an Air Force veteran.
